!!~~ Huma Quereshi, Emraan Hashmi not eager to go to Maha Kumbh ~~!!

Image
Recently, Ekta Kapoor announced that she was taking the cast and crew of her next production, Ek Thi Daayan, to Allahabad to attend the Maha Kumbh Mela. Now, we hear that of the lead cast comprising Konkona Sen Sharma, Emraan Hashmi, Kalki Koechlin and Huma Qureshi, Emraan and Huma may not partake in one of the most famous rituals at the event — the holy dip. Ekta says, “We’re going to take it as it goes. Huma and Emraan are going, but I don’t know if they will take the holy dip. It’s not a compulsion. It is strongly connected to the Hinduism, but it’s more spiritual than religious.” Emraan, on his part, seems excited about the trip, but is reluctant to take the holy dip. “I’ll see once I’m there. For me, it’s about going and seeing the entire ritual. I’ve heard so much about it; now it’s time to experience it,” he says. For the trip, the makers have made tight security arrangements for the entire contingent. They will, however, stay in tents like other devotees, rather than at a ho...

~~ SRK behind Deepika's 'lungi' look ~~

Image
New Delhi: Hopefully, Deepika Padukone's lungi and shirt look from 'Chennai Express' posters does not spark a trend but it has certainly made everyone do a double take. The actress reveals that film's lead actor Shah Rukh Khan and director Rohit Shetty came up with the idea to dress her in a 'lungi'. "That's something new and I hope it works," says Deepika about her look. "The idea to wear a 'lungi' is not mine actually. It was Shah Rukh and Rohit who came up with it. We had to quickly do a photoshoot because we were losing the light. They were like 'Why don't we give her this lungi and make her look modern'. The shirt that I am wearing in the posters also belongs to SRK, only the sunglasses are mine," the actress told reporters. The potboiler, which reunites Deepika with SRK onscreen after her debut in 'Om Shanti Om', is slated to release this year. Deepika, fresh from the success of 'Race 2', is lo...

Prabhu Deva helped me get in touch with her," added Krish. Sonakshi is looking forward to the project. "Lots of support from the south for my Telugu debut - thanks guys! Really looking forward to it. Feels like 'Dabangg' deja vu - debut with superstar, script I couldn't re...

!!~~ Mama : Review Rating ~~!!

Image
Mama’s strength lies in its atmosphere and for the first hour or so; the movie holds a spell over you thanks to some creepy visuals and background score that hits all the right notes. There is ever-present sense of dread that drips from every frame like cold sweat and till the movie’s biggest reveal turns the monster in the shadows into a C.G.I. abomination it’s one of the best horror movies I’ve seen in the past year. The last thirty odd minutes however are a huge letdown and it clearly shows that the makers had no idea what to do with the brilliant setup they have concocted. The movie starts off with a man whisking away two little girls to a cabin in the woods to kill them. Turns out it’s their father, who after the financial ruin he’s faced wishes not to live his life anymore. Just as the father is ready to pull the trigger, he’s attacked and killed by a mysterious creature but the girls for some reason are spared. Many years later, the cabin is found and the gi...

~~!! "Special 26" Movie Review, Rating ~~!!

Image
Special 26 is a cracker of a film. Con movies are difficult to make, especially when we have seen almost every kind of con on celluloid already. Ocean’s Eleven (2001), The Sting (1973), Catch Me If You Can (2002), Nine Queens (2002) you name it. For the first hour or so I was enjoying it but not quite loving it. It had two thrilling sequences but the rest of it didn’t soar, not to mention the wafer-thin characterization. During the interval, I wished the film would get better. I wanted to know these people more. I wanted to get wowed. Probably even wanted to get fooled. (A good con movie is always one step ahead of us). How many films these days actually do get better? How many films have a strong third act? Special 26 delivers exactly what I wished for. Neeraj Pandey made a strong debut with A Wednesday (2008). A film unanimously loved by everyone and for good reason. I’m guessing the same feat would be repeated as Special 26 shows Pandey was not a one hit wonder. Sure it doesn...

Image
Orchids and lilies, hydrangeas and heliconias, anthuriums and birds of paradise- exotic flowers all and easy to buy from the neighborhood florist. But if it's Valentine's Day it's got to be roses, red roses. With the global day of love just round the corner- Feb 14- it's all about roses again.
