~~!! Movie Review, Rating : David !!~~

Rating : 1 2 3 4 5  2 / 5

Cast: Vikram, Neil Nitin Mukesh, Vinay Virmani, Tabu

Direction: Bejoy Nambiar

What's in a name? Three very predictable script ideas. Make them individually as three different films, and you could sell them with the right PR pitch. That's commerce. Club them together in one screenplay with an interlinked spin, and you are talking concept cinema. That's experimentation.

Davidtells the stories of three heroes who exist in different time eras and places but who have the same name. Bejoy Nambiar, who proved his worth with his debut filmShaitan, tries an
episodic narration this time.Davidfails to work because none of the three stories are special. There is no logical reason why these stories should serve as episodes in the same film either, except that the protagonist in each case has been christenedDavid.

Worse, Bejoy reveals no intention at sustaining interest and the actors overall are at best mediocre.

You have Neil Nitin Mukesh as David in London 1975, a gangster whose past hides a scandal that could destroy him. Vinay Virmani plays the guitar- happy teenager David in 1999, who takes to extreme ways after his family falls victim to a politician's filthy schemes. Vikram plays David the rough-hewn fisherman in Goa, 2010. His trouble starts when he falls for his buddy's fiancee.

Davidtries to push the envelope on Bollywood innovation with its multiple tales. Ironically for a film with three stories to tell, it is weak on content.
