'Bhaag Milkha Bhaag' is a biopic on legendary Indian athlete Milkha Singh. 'When Rakeysh narrated me the script in 25 minutes, I was blown away with this man's life story. I wanted to re-tell his story to the audience. The national pride should be brought back in youth by making this film and that was my idea,' says Farhan Akhtar.  Former athlete Milkha Singh launched the music of Rakeysh Omprakash Mehra's 'Bhaag Milkha Bhaag', saying he hoped that the film inspires the youth of today to take part in the Olympics and win laurels for their country. "The coming generation does not know about Milkha Singh. I hope that they see this movie and get inspired to take part in the Olympics and make their country proud," he said at the launch. He also revealed that he was approached by three to four directors to make a film on his life story. "Three to four directors approached me saying that they wanted to make a film on my story. My son was there when Rakeysh-ji (Omprakash Mehra) came and he decided that I should make it with him," he said. New Delhi: 'Flying Sikh' Milkha Singh's national records were not the prime attraction for Rakeysh Omprakash Mehra, who has helmed 'Bhaag Milkha Bhaag', a movie on the legendary athlete's life. It was just his "undying spirit", says the filmmaker. "This is not a historical or a biopic in the sense that he was born here, he lived here and he married here. What really intrigued me was his undying spirit," Mehra told IANS in an interview. "This boy, who came from a village and was an orphan at 11, actually witnessed the massacre of his family members, including his brothers and sisters. He picked a knife to survive at 11. He spent time in (Delhi's) Tihar Jail before he joined the army. "He wanted respect and to be a human being against all odds.
