Sonam wants to do father's film 'Tezaab'

Mumbai: Even as filmmakers are revisiting old blockbusters of the 80s and 90s, actress Sonam Kapoor says that she is not particularly fond of movies made in that period but would love to do Anil Kapoor-Madhuri Dixit starrer 'Tezaab'. "I am not a huge fan of 80s and 90s as they were hero centric. If I had to play a role now it has to be of a hero. So if anything had to be remade I would love to be Ms India if not Mr India. I would love to play male characters," Sonam told PTI. "I would love to do 'Tezaab' again," she said. Her father Anil Kapoor ruled Bollywood at that time with films like 'Tezaab', 'Beta', 'Lamhe', and 'Mr India' among others. Kate Winslet to star in ‘Divergent’

Los Angeles: British Oscar-winning actress Kate Winslet has been cast in upcoming young adult film 'Divergent', boosting the profile of the latest adaptation from a best-selling novel to the big screen. Film studio Summit Entertainment said on Thursday that Winslet, 37, will play the cold and unlikeable Jeanine Matthews in the film set in a dystopian future. 'Divergent', based on the first of a trilogy of novels by Veronica Roth, is set in a society that is divided into five factions that define how a person lives their life. The Abnegation people are selfless while the Erudite devote themselves to a lifelong pursuit of knowledge. Winslet will play the leader of the Erudite, Summit said in a statement. New York: Lady Gaga is after canceling her 'Born This Way Ball' tour due to injury, according to reports. One-month after undergoing hip surgery, the singer's manager said that she's "doing unbelievable," the New York Daily News reported. Vincent Herbert said in an interview on Tuesday that the 26-year-old Grammy winner is "doing wonderful, doing great." Herbert said that Gaga is finishing her new album, 'ARTPOP', and is "ready to get back to work." He calls the new album "very, very refreshing" and said that the pop star continues to "push the envelope."

Girls Aloud announce split

London: Girls Aloud announced on Thursday morning that the all-girl band is splitting up - after the final gig of their ten-year anniversary tour. "Dear Alouders, we just want to say from the bottom of our hearts Thank you!! This tour has been an amazing experience and the perfect chance to say thank you for being on this journey with us through a decade," The Sun quoted a tweet from the band's official account as reading. "It has far exceeded any of our dreams and we hope we are forever your inspiration and reminder that dreams really do glitter!!" Mumbai: Actress Bipasha Basu feels there are not good enough roles for women in Bollywood, and that there is still so much more that women can do in the field. "We have not done enough. There is so much more to do. We all talk about the Oscars and the Golden Globes. Every actress over there is above 40 years of age. The kind of roles written for women there are just so brilliant. It's not like we will not accept those films here. It is a matter of time," Bipasha said in an interaction here. Nevertheless, she admits the change in taste is visibly better. One day, on the set of his upcoming Ajay Devgn starrer Himmatwala, his heroine, Tamannaah became the unsuspecting victim of his prank. The filmmaker had instructed all his assistant directors to go turn by turn to the actress and propose to her. While Tamannaah was initially shocked, she was quick to realise that her director was calling the shots on this one too. A source from the unit says, “Tamannaah took the proposals very sportingly. It was actually done to make her and the crew comfortable so it would be better for everyone to work together as a family.”

Nawazuddin received the special mention for four of his films – “ Kahaani ”, “ Gangs of Wasseypur ”, “ Dekh Indian Circus ” and “ Talaash ”. “National Awards, of course feel good. But there should not be any pressure. I will continue to work like I have been.   Bollywood actor Saif Ali Khan was forcibly evicted from the VIP lounge at the Chowdhary Charan Singh airport in Lucknow on Thursday. As per the reports, since his name was not in the list of Government authorized VIP list he had to face the heat.The 42-year-old actor, who was in the city for the shooting of Tigmanshu Dhulia ‘s upcoming directorial Bullet Raja, was on his way to Delhi when he reached the Chaudhary Charan Singh airport and entered the VIP lounge, airport sources said.
