Recently, Ekta Kapoor announced that she was taking the cast and crew of her next production, Ek Thi Daayan, to Allahabad to attend the Maha Kumbh Mela. Now, we hear that of the lead cast comprising Konkona Sen Sharma, Emraan Hashmi, Kalki Koechlin and Huma Qureshi, Emraan and Huma may not partake in one of the most famous rituals at the event — the holy dip. Ekta says, “We’re going to take it as it goes. Huma and Emraan are going, but I don’t know if they will take the holy dip. It’s not a compulsion. It is strongly connected to the Hinduism, but it’s more spiritual than religious.” Emraan, on his part, seems excited about the trip, but is reluctant to take the holy dip. “I’ll see once I’m there. For me, it’s about going and seeing the entire ritual. I’ve heard so much about it; now it’s time to experience it,” he says.
