~~ India Gem and Jewellery Awards 2013 ~~

The 40th edition of Gem and Jewellery Awards 2013 was a grand affair and was graced by fashionista Sonam Kapoor, who also is the brand ambassador of Gem & Jewellery Export Promotion Council (GJEPC). An independent jury selected a total of 31 winners from over 270 nominations received from across India. The glittering awards ceremony was anchored by the versatile Boman Irani. Apart from the 'Raanjhanaa' girl, also present at the inauguration and lamp lighting ceremony were Kapil Sibal, Union Minister for Communications and Information Technology & Law and Justice, Vipul Shah, Chairman, GJEPC, and Pankaj Parekh, Vice Chairman, GJEPC among others. The council announced nine special awards in the current year based on special classifications such as emerging performer, women entrepreneur and lifetime achievement amongst others.  Mumbai based husband-and-wife, Falguni and Shane Peacock, launched their fashion label in August 2002, aiming to create a perfect fusion of western cuts and Indian embellishments. While Bollywood stars like Sameera Reddy, Neha Dhupia, Sonakshi Sinha, Genelia D'Souza and Sophie Choudry among others have become Peacock loyalists; international celebrities like Paris Hilton, Jennifer Lopez, Madonna, Lady Gaga, Britney Spears, Katy Perry, Fergie, Nicole Scherzinger and Rihanna have sported their designs at various red carpet events. Socialite Paris Hilton, who recently attended the designer duo's show at New York Fashion Week, is said to be in awe of their "incredible" designs, and is often spotted wearing them. Launch of Anil Kapoor's '24'

Anil Kapoor is all set to make his debut on the small screen with the Indian remake of superhit Hollywood suspense drama show '24'. Anil's '24' is being directed by Abhinay Deo. The first season will have 24 episodes. Mandira Bedi and Tisca Chopra will join Anil Kapoor in the cast, while Anupam Kher, Rishi Kapoor and Boman Irani will make cameo appearances. ~~ 'Bhaag Milkha Bhaag' ~~

'Bhaag Milkha Bhaag' is a biopic on legendary Indian athlete Milkha Singh. 'When Rakeysh narrated me the script in 25 minutes, I was blown away with this man's life story. I wanted to re-tell his story to the audience. The national pride should be brought back in youth by making this film and that was my idea,' says Farhan Akhtar. Directed by Rakeysh Omprakash Mehra, the film stars Farhan Akhtar, Sonam Kapoor, Rebecca Breeds, Dalip Tahil, Prakash Raj, Pawan Malhotra and Divya Dutta. 'Bhaag Milkha Bhaag' audio launch

 Former athlete Milkha Singh launched the music of Rakeysh Omprakash Mehra's 'Bhaag Milkha Bhaag', saying he hoped that the film inspires the youth of today to take part in the Olympics and win laurels for their country. "The coming generation does not know about Milkha Singh. I hope that they see this movie and get inspired to take part in the Olympics and make their country proud," he said at the launch. He also revealed that he was approached by three to four directors to make a film on his life story. "Three to four directors approached me saying that they wanted to make a film on my story. My son was there when Rakeysh-ji (Omprakash Mehra) came and he decided that I should make it with him," he said. Produced and directed by Mehra, 'Bhaag Milkha Bhaag' is based on the real life struggle of the former athlete. The film stars Farhan Akhtar and Sonam Kapoor and is all set to release on July 12. I love girls, says Soonam Kapoor

Mumbai:  Bollywood's vivacious, sizzling actress Sonam Kapoor loves being surrounded by her like and feels men sometimes "bring negativity" into women's lives. This young lady, who has played feminine roles in films like "Aisha" and "I hate Luv Stories", enjoys the company of women. "I love girls; I surround myself with only women. I think men bring negativity into your life sometimes. Only women work with me," Sonam told to source. "It is a challenge and that is why you have great products to help you and I have great people to help me look good. When you see me normally, I don't look so good," she said. "My sister is really good at that. I am really self-obsessed, so I only concentrate on myself," she added. Sonam Kapoor wants to do Item number soon

The sizzling Sonam Kapoor, who will be seen dancing some Indian moves in her next film "Raanjhanaa", says that she wants to do a fully fledged Indian dance number in one of her films soon "I guess our films lack good Indian dances. I want to do an Indian dance soon in one of my films," Sonam said to source. Sonam also says that she hardly gets to see Indian dances in Bollywood films and the last one which she liked was Deepika Padukone's performance in "Om Shanti Om" and Katrina Kaif in the song "Chikni chameli". "The last one which I liked was Deepika's dance in 'Om shanti Om' and Katrina in 'Chikni Chameli' song was also amazing...there is nothing which I remember after that," she said. Sonam has been busy shooting films for the last couple of years and has not been able to practice her dance. She hopes that she will get the chance to use her dance training someday...
