~~ India Gem and Jewellery Awards 2013 ~~

The 40th edition of Gem and Jewellery Awards 2013 was a grand affair and was graced by fashionista Sonam Kapoor, who also is the brand ambassador of Gem & Jewellery Export Promotion Council (GJEPC). An independent jury selected a total of 31 winners from over 270 nominations received from across India. The glittering awards ceremony was anchored by the versatile Boman Irani. Apart from the 'Raanjhanaa' girl, also present at the inauguration and lamp lighting ceremony were Kapil Sibal, Union Minister for Communications and Information Technology & Law and Justice, Vipul Shah, Chairman, GJEPC, and Pankaj Parekh, Vice Chairman, GJEPC among others. The council announced nine special awards in the current year based on special classifications such as emerging performer, women entrepreneur and lifetime achievement amongst others. ~~ 'Attarintiki Daredi' ~~

After starring in box-office hits 'Gabbar Singh' and 'Cameraman Ganga Tho Rambabu' in 2012, Telugu superstar Pawan Kalyan returns to the screens in 2013 with 'Attarintiki Daredi'. Directed by Trivikram Srinivas, 'Attarintiki Daredi' also stars Samantha Ruth Prabhu, Pranitha, Nadhiya, Boman Irani, Ali, Brahmanandam, Brahmaji, Sameer, Srinivas Reddy, MS Narayana and Kota Srinivasa Rao. Recently, around 90 minutes of 'Attarintiki Daredi' was illegally released online. On hearing the news about the leak, lead actress Samantha posted on Twitter: "Support 'Attarintiki Daaredhi'. IIFA Awards 2013 press meet

 The International Indian Film Academy Awards (IIFA) 2013 scheduled to be held from July 4-6 at Macau, will be promoting women empowerment. "This year IIFA has taken upon itself to circulate change of women empowerment. There is violence happening against women all over the world," veteran actress Shabana Azmi told reporters at an event. IIFA embraces the cause of women empowerment and equality. In partnership with Tata Tea's 'Jaago Re' campaign, it aims to create social awakening among Indian women about the change they can bring with the true power of their vote. Women constitute 49 per cent of the voter base and the campaign 'Power of 49' emphasises it. IIFA is committed to express 'Power of 49', and provide solution as well, she said. "We all must vote for those politicians who will take the problem of women at top and solve it. We women must try to make a difference by voting for the right person," she added. ...
