In the presence of Bollywood celebrities such as Sonakshi Sinha, Tisca Chopra, Nandita Das and Divya Dutta, the 15th edition of Mumbai Film Festival (MFF) had a grand opening at the Liberty cinemas in Mumbai. Actress Sonakshi Sinha, who was invited as the special chief guest of the evening lit the ceremonial lamp along with delegates from France and filmmaker Shyam Benegal, chairman of organising body Mumbai Academy of Moving Image (MAMI). Other filmmakers from around the world who were part of the ceremony included Bruce Beresford, Siddiq Barmark, Deepa Mehta, Waris Hussein, Roger Garcia and Asghar Farhadi along with Indian actress Konkona Sen Sharma.

Anil Kapoor is all set to make his debut on the small screen with the Indian remake of superhit Hollywood suspense drama show '24'. Anil's '24' is being directed by Abhinay Deo. The first season will have 24 episodes. Mandira Bedi and Tisca Chopra will join Anil Kapoor in the cast, while Anupam Kher, Rishi Kapoor and Boman Irani will make cameo appearances. Rohan (Arjun Mathur) was a young medical intern who dared to dream. He was in awe of Dr. Asthana (Kay Kay Menon), the Chief of Surgery at the Shekhawat General Hospital. All he wanted to was be like him. He lived in with Riya, his co-intern and the love of his life. However, when an eight year old boy, Ankur dies due to Dr. Asthana's medical negligence, Rohan realises that a good surgeon is not necessarily a good person.
