The Hobbit has made over one billion dollars in global ticket sales, meaning it is the 15th movie in history to break the billion dollar mark, not counting inflation. Warner's president of domestic distribution Dan Fellman said in reaction to the news: 'We could not be more proud to have reached reached this amazing benchmark.
