Aashiqui 2 becomes the first Super Hit of the year 2013

Image
Year 2013 has not opened well for Bollywood as we have not seen any big grossing movies. But what was not expected has happened as we have a Super Hit film and the film is not a big movie ( in terms of leading Stars ). Aashiqui 2 is not less than a surprise for movie lovers and Industry. First the music was appreciated a lot and when the movie arrived in the theaters, the audience loved it. After a decent start, Aashiqui 2 did extremely well in its first week despite of its clash with Hollywood Mega release Iron Man 3 and in second weekend, the film again clashed with Shootout At Wadala which was also a healthy release but still Aashiqui 2 dominated the box office as it collected around 8 crore net in its second weekend taking the total to around 42 crore which is fantastic. Aashiqui 2 : Review

Image
Rahul Jaykar is a successful singer with an inexplicable addiction to alcohol. It’s irrational, dangerous and Aditya Roy Kapur’s depiction of a drunk is not even convincing. At one point Rahul’s only explanation is, “Mein marne ke liye nahin peeta hoon. Peene ke liye marta hoon.” His habit drives his career into the ground. And then he almost runs over Aarohi, causing her bag full of tomatoes and potatoes to scatter all over a Goan road. He runs into her again, this time metaphorically, at a bar, where he wants one more for the road. He discovers that she’s a talented singer and falls in love with her almost instantly. He also wants to give her career a boost. Cut to Mumbai, which looks more like Cape Town, and a beaten up Rahul is lying unconscious in hospital. His friend and manager Vivek (Shaad Randhawa) decides Rahul’s fascination with Aarohi is career suicide and sabotages their liaison. Eventually Rahul manages to reconnect with Aarohi, gives her the promise...

Directed by Mohit Suri, 'Aashiqui 2' stars Aditya Roy Kapur, Shraddha Kapoor and Shaad Randhawa. "The story is a personal one... it deals with the people that you are. ‘Aashiqui 2’ has at its core a story that is simple and emotional. It is not larger than life – the film is one that you might feel deals with somebody that you know, someone who is around you. I feel that is where viewers will be able to relate to the story," said Mohit in an interview with Zee News. Click on, for exclusive snaps from 'Aashiqui 2'.

Filmmaker Mahesh Bhatt, who is looking forward to the release of 'Aashiqui 2', says it is a very different film from 'Aashiqui' but the emotion of love remains the same. Bhatt directed the 1990 hit romantic film 'Aashiqui'. The film, starring Rahul Roy and Anu Agarwal, was a commercial success particularly because of its music and songs. While 'Aashiqui 2' is directed by Mohit Suri, it stars Aditya Roy Kapoor and Shraddha Kapoor in the lead roles. "'Aashiqui 2' is very much different from 'Aashiqui'. That film was set in the 90s, this is in 2013. So as the generation has changed, the narrative of the film has also changed," Bhatt told reporters at the film's music launch. The film releases on April 26. "All I can say is it is thousand times superior... better. It was difficult and challenging in its own way. But everyone has worked hard right from the actors to director to writer to musicia...
