 The 9th edition of Blenders Pride Fashion Tour held in Gurgaon brought back panache and glamour with country's leading couturiers like Pankaj & Nidhi, Suneet Varma and Wendell Rodricks showcasing their exclusive creations. Designer Suneet Varma, whose collection was inspired by mother Indira Varma's poetry, said, "I have created something nostalgic, something that I have not done so far." Pankaj and Nidhi's collection 'Roses are Blue' focused on cutting edge craftsmanship and a modern take on roses. Actress Shilpa Shetty, donning a stunning red thigh-high split gown, turned showstopper for the designer duo.  Bollywood beauties Shilpa Shetty, Sushmita Sen, Sonakshi Sinha, Huma Qureshi, Dia Mirza and Mallika Sherawat walked the ramp at India International Bullion Summit showcasing exquisite jewellery by leading jewellery manufacturers in Mumbai. Dusky beauty Shilpa Shetty stole the limelight as she sashayed the runway in a beautiful maroon-gold lehenga, while Sushmita looked angelic in a white gown adorning a sterling silver neckpiece. 'Gangs of Wasseypur' actress Huma Qureshi showcased a breathtaking kundan neckpiece - an ideal pick for bridal wear. While Sonakshi's necklace perfectly complemented her gorgeous Rocky S gown, Mallika's appearance from head-to-toe was very busy for us to concentrate. The grand finale of Lakme Fashion Week Winter/Festive season this year was a surprising affair as noted designer Sabyasachi Mukherjee presented a stunning Indian royal collection.  It was a fantastic offering of perfect ready-to-wear and occasion outfits that Tarun Tahiliani presented to an elite audience in a show that set the fashionable pace of Lakme Fashion Week Summer/Resort 2013. The Tarun Tahiliani Design Studio worked around traditional embroidery and innovative digital prints to give a fresh look to modern Indian styles. The textured handlooms, silks, and jacquards were brought to centre stage with exciting silhouettes. The sexy shifts, innovative kurtas, experimental saris and striking handkerchief hemlines were aimed at the trendy contemporary fashion followers. In many creations, the unusual drapes and construction revealed Tarun’s mastery over silhouettes. Colour blocking took on a unique meaning, as separates were teamed to offer myriad options.
