~~ Mirchi - Movie Review ~~

Image
Telugu actor Prabhas' much-hyped movie Mirchi, which happens to be the next biggest outing after Rebel, has hit the marque today. Debuntant Koratala Siva, who has earlier penned story and dialogues for several hit films, is turning director with this film, which has soared up the viewers' curiosity to sky high. It surely lives up to their expectations with its sound production elements and good performances by lead actors. Mirchi is a romantic action entertainer, which is rich in commercial aspects. Prabhas' electrifying performance is the main highlight of the movie. Koratala Siva's beautiful story and punch dialogues, Devi Sri Prasad's trendy music, Madhi's beautiful picturisation, amazing choreography of dance and action sequences, Brahmanandam and Raghubabu's comedy, beautiful artwork, costumes and locations are the highlights of the movie. The predictable plot with some outdated and cliched scenes and weak climax are its drawbacks. Koratala S

Making "going green" look ever so fashionable, Kangna Ranaut, having shifted base to Mumbai has now turned vegan, a decision that was quite a challenge for the style icon, especially since she was raised as a non-vegetarian.

~~ Jacqueline Fernandez goes pow-wow! ~~

Image
The recent runways were full of some pretty wild beauty ideas (bleached brows, anyone?) But not all were crazy-some were fierce in a sexy way, and we got actress Jacqueline Fernandez to model four of the best...  This Japanese-inspired sleek ponytail looks fresh and is a clever solution for sticky hair days. Apply a sleeking gloss, then gather hair at the centre of your head and tie with a clear band. Next, wrap a section of hair around the band and pin under the pony for a neat finish. Tip: pin on a faux fringe if you don’t have a real one.

~~ Star Wars: Aishwarya Rai vs. Katrina Kaif ~~

Perhaps it is true that some people are tailor-made for Bollywood. A Mangalore beauty and a British-Indian charmer have found their paths crossed in the Hindi film industry. And not surprisingly, both have limited histrionic skills. But the magic of Bollywood is such that, if you have a good face, a sculpted figure and the right contacts (boyfriends, ex-BFFs or The Family), you can be right there - at the top. ~~ Ranjan back with 'Rose Guitarinal' ~~

Image
Kochi: Director Ranjan Pramod, who is back after a sabbatical of six years with his latest film 'Rose Guitarinal', seems to be in an experimental mode. He has teamed up with new faces and even canned a song in a single shot with no cuts. "The song 'Chutti Varum Katte' from the movie will be the first Malayalam song taken in a single shot with no cuts," said the popular scriptwriter-turned-director. 'Rose Guitarinal', a musical romantic saga, to be released later this month, features a whole array of new faces on the screen and off the screen. The movie, produced by Subair under the Varnachitra banner, is the second directorial venture of Pramod, after the Mohan Lal starrer ‘Photographer’. Earlier, he caught the attention of film buffs for his brilliant screenplay, especially in 'Meesha Madhavan', one of the best hits, as well as 'Manasinakkare', and 'Achuvinte Amma'. The film has eight songs, which are composed by Shahabaz Am

~~ Brangelina venture into winemaking ~~

Image
Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie have gone into the wine business, helping to produce a rose called Miraval from their French estate and putting their names on the label, wine website Decanter reported. The movie star couple have been working with French winemaker Marc Perrin starting with the 2012 harvest, the website said. The Miraval wine will be on the market in March, and white wines will begin arriving by the end of this summer. "They ... want to ensure they are making the best Provence wines they can," Perrin told Britain-based website on Wednesday. "They were present at the blending sessions this year, and are relooking at everything from the installations in the winery - where we have already switched to stainless steel tanks - to reworking the labels across the range of wines," he added. The back label of the Miraval wine carries the names Jolie-Pitt and Perrin. Pitt and Jolie began renting Chateau Miraval in Correns, southern France, about four years ago a

~~ Jayantabhai Ki Luv Story : Review , Rating ~~

Image
Star cast: Vivek Oberoi, Neha Sharma, Shishir Sharma, Nasser What’s Good: A tried and tested chemical formula of Rom-Coms. What’s Bad: Uninteresting plot. Shabby acting. Tacky Humor. Loo break: Innumerable. Watch or Not?: No. Sweet humored notoriety suits Munnabhai not Jayantabhai. Carry along pillows and quilt; this movie will treat your Insomnia better than any shrink Jayantabhai Ki Luv Story Review: Script Analysis The same old script is nauseating much! The film lacks luster, grandeur and wit of romantic comedies – enough to be a blemish. While crime romance films are quite interesting if well fabricated, the story itself is flawed in this case. It is like an empty mousse with its richness gone bland. The film does have its share of light hearted humor enwrapped in wit that stenches. Bursting with mediocre entertainment, it tries its best to paint a legible picture. The only energetic bits are when Vivek and Neha are romancing each other. The chemistry

~~ Murder 3 : Review, Rating ~~

Image
We see the characters going through or putting others through a test of love. To the ignorance of the makers, the film gradually becomes a test of your patience and intellect. Ultimately it ends up cheating you. For starters, there is no murder in the film. None. Zero. What we see murdered is the filmmaker’s ability to think as what ends up on screen lacks any sort of conviction. This is the directorial debut of Vishesh Bhatt (Mukesh Bhatt’s son) who shows no promise whatsoever. The first hour is Sara Loren trying very hard to act. The second hour is Aditi Rao Hydari trying to rescue the film. For two and a half hours, Randeep Hooda is trying to be taken seriously. I don’t even want to bother calling it a bad film, it’s just a waste of celluloid. The first hour of the film is lackluster and thoroughly uninteresting. It only picks up post-intermission but by then it is too late. Why? Not so much because of the plot. There is an intriguing plot twist during the second half of the

~~ A Minute With: Sajid on ‘Himmatwala' ~~

Image
Sajid Khan's films rarely get good reviews but the Bollywood film-maker doesn't mind. Most critics have panned his movies but audiences ensured his slapstick comedies made a killing at the box office. Khan is breaking out of his usual genre to attempt an action comedy with 'Himmatwala', his new film that opens in cinemas in March. The film, about a man's mission to avenge his father, is a different spin on a 1983 blockbuster of the same name. The 2013 version stars Ajay Devgn and Tamannaah in the lead. Khan spoke to Reuters about revisiting the 30-year-old film and why he thinks 'Himmatwala' would be one of the year's biggest hits. Q: Is your film a remake of 'Himmatwala'? A: "It's 20 percent. They are two different films. The old ‘Himmatwala' didn't have a city or a discotheque; mine does. I don't even want to call it a remake, I would call it a rewrite." Q: Why did you want to ‘rewrite' this film? A: "I hav

~~ Haven't reached my destination: Randeep ~~

Image
New Delhi: For Randeep Hooda the path to success was not easy. After making his debut in 'Monsoon Wedding' in 2001, it took him four years to bag his next project. But now, when he has got a place for himself in the industry, he is not bragging. "Right now it all looks fine, but that was not the case some years back. It was bleak, dark. The success right now is just a step in my journey. I don't think I have reached my destination yet," Randeep told IANS. "I am just accumulating more and more. All my choices of work are half chances, and my half chances have been working well, but I am not over the moon and shouting from rooftop about it because when I was down and out, I wasn't groveling. So I think I have found a balance of not getting too elated with success and not too disappointed with failures," added the 36-year-old. Milan Luthria's 'Once Upon A Time In Mumbaai' in 2010 came as a breakthrough in Randeep's career, when he was

~~ Salman to launch bodyguard's son ~~

Now gossip mills are abuzz that Salman is likely to launch Shera's son in Bollywood. Recently Salman was seen praising Shera's 20-year-old son Tiger. "With his looks and personality we already have a winner. At 20, he is so focused and determined," Salman had said. "It is true that he would be launching my son Tiger in Bollywood. It's a great thing. He has said that (launching his son) which means he would have seen something in my son," an excited Shera told PTI. Mumbai: Actress Chitrangada Singh, who made her commercial foray in Rohit Dhawan's 'Desi Boyz', seems keen to be part of more such films and has already signed an action-thriller and a drama. "There are two films that are finalised. They are totally in commercial space. One film is an action-thriller and other is drama," Chitrangada told PTI, refusing to elaborate. The 36-year-old dusky beauty made a successful debut with the critically acclaimed film 'Hazaaron Khwaishen Aisi' in 2003 and followed it up with other off-beat films like 'Kal: Yesterday and Tomorrow', 'Sorry Bhai' and 'Yeh Saali Zindagi'. She did an item number in Shirish Kunder's 'Joker' last year. On the future projects, she said, "I can't say anything more. No names to announce. The makers will do the announcement. "I am not allowed to talk much about the film as it is in a very initial stage. First, let me sign the film, then we can talk about it," she added. Usually she has been offered character roles. "I have been getting many offers but all the roles that are being offered are more serious kind of roles. I want to come out of that image and try comedy now," said Mahie, who is happy playing Mona Darling in the

Rani Mukherjee is in favour of making martial arts and other self-defense methods compulsory for school children to help them fight for themselves and also stay fit. Rani further spoke about the importance of fighting back a criminal. "This self-defense that we learn from childhood will help us be fit and it would also impart a self-defence skill in times of crisis. Whatever we get to see on crime shows, tell us that criminals are cowards and if they do something to us, that means we are allowing them to do it. If we stand up and hit them, something can happen. Biggest weapon is to kick them between the legs,&qu

This is what celebrities hope and wish for on Valentine's Day, which falls on February 14: Ayushmann Khurana: I don't believe I need one special day to make my wife Tahira feel special. To me, everyday with her is Valentine's Day. However, these days I hardly get time to spend with her. Even on Valentine's Day I have an event in the evening. But after the event I will take Tahira for a very long drive and sing to her. I love singing to her. She is a very good judge of my voice as her father happens to be a polished singer. Sushant Singh Rajput: I was meant to be in Dubai promoting ‘Kai Po Che!’. Ankita (Lokhande) had agreed to accompany me. I'd have done my promotion while she would have gone shopping for both of us. ~~ Don't copy me: SRK to new actors ~~

Badshah of Bollywood, Shah Rukh Khan has advised upcoming actors not to play a catching game with him as it would only lead them copying him. Khan, who has worked for 22 years in about 72 films, said that he is on a completely different track from where these youngsters are wonderfully running on and he doesn't know if at any stage he will have to shift his gear to run further away from them. The 'Kuch Kuch Hota Hai' star further added that it would be extremely small of him to be competing with newcomers, considering the work that he had done so far. Khan also believes that whatever work he does, he does the best and no youngster should try to catch up with him as they would be taking century-old Indian cinema forward with their talent, which he didn't imagine he c
