The much delayed Tamil romantic comedy 'Madha Gaja Raja' will hit screens on September 6. Directed by Sundar C, the film stars Vishal Krishna, Anjali, Varalakshmi, Sada, Santhanam and Sonu Sood. 'Madha Gaja Raja' is releasing after eight months of delay. It was slated to come out during Pongal. "The film was delayed due to several reasons, but I'm glad it's finally coming out. It's an out and out comedy entertainer. I'm sure audiences will love it," said actor Vishal. ‘Madha Gaja Raja’ has been dubbed in Telugu as 'Nataraja Thaney Raja' and will simultaneously hit screens along with its Tamil version. Vishal Krishna, who turned producer with Tamil action-comedy 'Pattatthu Yaanai', has bought the distribution rights of Tamil and Telugu version of 'Madha Gaja Raja'. Superstar Rajnikanth's look in 'Kochadaiyaan' has been unveiled by his daughter Soundarya Ashwin. Soundarya, who is directing the much-awaited Tamil period-drama, tweeted the first look, featuring Rajnikanth in a dual role. The trailer of the film will be unveiled at the forthcoming Cannes Film Festival in May. 'Kochadaiyaan' also features Deepika Padukone, Jackie Shroff, Shobana, and R. Sarath Kumar. It is jointly produced by Eros International and Media One Global Entertainment. Currently in its post-production phase, the film is slated to release sometime in July. 'Kochadaiyaan', Asia's first motion capturing film, which uses the technology only previously used in 'Avatar' and 'Tintin', will see Rajnikanth playing an eighth century Pandya king.

Chennai: If films are watched for entertainment, it is important to enjoy them as they are, even if it's a remake, says Tamil director R. Kannan, known for remaking Hindi films 'Jab We Met' and 'Delhi Belly' in Tamil. "I don't understand why two films should be compared even if one is a remake of the other. By comparing, we are only restricting ourselves from enjoying a film. In simple words, we are literally killing entertainment," Kannan told IANS. "Most remakes are made keeping in mind so many factors, but people very easily discard it by comparing it with the original. Even though I know it's extremely difficult not to expect people from comparing remakes, I feel it should be stopped," he added. Chennai: Theatre artist Lakshmi Priyaa Chandramouli, popularly known as LP, who is foraying into films with upcoming Tamil comedy-drama 'Sutta Kadhai', would always like to be known as an actor. "Since I come from a theatre background, I'm extremely passionate about acting. Having forayed into films, I want to remain an actor and do roles that are performance-oriented, instead of being called a heroine for being glamorous," Lakshmi told IANS. "I wouldn't even mind the length of a role, but if there is scope for performance, then I'll be more than happy to do it," she added. ‘Settai’, the Tamil remake of Hindi adult comedy, is the story of three friends, who unknowingly become prey of a ruthless gangster. Directed by R. Kannan, the film stars Arya, Hansika Motwani, Santhanam, Premji Amaren, Anjali and Nassar. “You always want Santhanam to overshadow you for the joke to work. Comedy is never solo. I support him so that the punchline works. If I say my punchline has to be better, the film won't work. Santhanam will obviously stand out, but the film is about all three people. The minute I met Shriya I felt a strong bond with her since she also supports several charitable projects like me. New Delhi: Daler Mehndi has recorded a new Telugu song for NTR Junior-starrer 'Baadshah'. Mehndi made his Telugu debut with "Rubber gaajulu" for the 2007 film 'Yamadonga'. He also delivered another Telugu song, the hit title track of Rajnikanth’s 'Kuselan'. Mehndi, who has been occupied with his latest project 'Mission Love', agreed to record the Telugu number despite his busy schedule. He flew to Hyderabad especially to croon the track and was greeted with overwhelming response by the film director Srinu Vaitla, said a source. The song, in Mehndi's powerful voice, was recorded within a couple of hours. 'Baadshah', an action movie, is produced by Bandla Ganesh under his Parameshwara Art Productions. Thaman is scoring music for the mega project and lyrics are by Ramayogi Sasthry.

Chennai: Rajnikanth along Tamil director K.S Ravikumar watched the first edited copy of his upcoming Tamil period-drama 'Kochadaiyaan' on Thursday. "Today (Thursday), the fully edited movie was viewed by superstar Rajnikanth, K.S. Ravikumar and his entire team along with Soundarya Rajnikanth," a statement from the production house said. "Ravikumar said that the film was thrilling, big in canvas and much larger in grandeur than he ever anticipated," the statement added. 'Kochadaiyaan' is Asia's first motion capturing film, which uses the technology only previously used in 'Avatar' and 'Tintin'. It went on floors in March 2012 in Pinewood Studios, London and was completed in 25 days. The team was busy in the post production work since last few months in Chennai and London.
