Angelina Jolie says that she has had a preventive double mastectomy after learning she carried a gene that made it extremely likely she would get breast cancer. The Oscar-winning actress and partner to Brad Pitt made the announcement in the form of an op-ed she authored for Tuesday’s New York Times under the headline, “My Medical Choice.” She writes that between early February and late April she completed three months of surgical procedures to remove both breasts. Jolie, 37, writes that she made the choice with thoughts of her six children after watching her own mother, actress Marcheline Bertrand, die too young from breast cancer. “My mother fought cancer for almost a decade and died at 56,” Jolie writes. “She held out long enough to meet the first of her grandchildren and to hold them in her arms. Filming for the new movie is already started for the new X-Men movie Days of Future Past. The movie is set to start off in the 1970s (eleven years after X-Men: First Class) and features a time-travel storyline, which has been kept largely under-wraps by director Bryan Singer. However, he did recently shed some light on the plot in a recent interview, in which he said: 'I think there’s a strong desire to broaden out the universe. I mean, the X-Men universe is every bit on its own as big as the Marvel universe and I think it’s time to reach out and explore it and perhaps even bring some connectivity between the films, as Marvel’s done so well. London: Emma Watson is in early talks with studios to play the lead in a live action movie version of the classic fairy-tale Cinderella directed by Kenneth Branagh. According to Variety, the 22-year-old actress will star opposite Cate Blanchett, who has already been cast as the wicked stepmother, the Independent reported. Since the Harry Potter franchise ended two years ago Watson has appeared in 'The Perks of Being A Wallflower,' Darren Aronofsky's 'Noah' and comedy 'This is the End'. Disney is said to have also considered Imogen Poots, Gabriella Wilde and Alicia Vikander for Cinderella's role. In 2009, Watson was reported to be considering the role of Cinderella in a goth-inspired revamp that was written and directed by Marilyn Manson.

The final installment of 'The Hobbit' film trilogy will be released on December 17, 2014, five months later than planned, Warner Bros. said on Thursday. 'The Hobbit: There and Back Again' had been set to debut in July 2014. It will follow 'The Hobbit: An Unexpected Journey', which came out in December 2012, and 'The Hobbit: The Desolation of Smaug', which is scheduled to reach theaters in December 2013.
