Many of us are privileged to have a lot of assurance about our safety but most of the women in our country do not have that. "A lot is being said but a lot more needs to be done about it. There should be definite laws for offenders. They should be punished immediately. "Ajay has spoken in five languages in a particular scene where Tamannaah (leading lady) gets some goons to beat him up. All those guys belong to different regions. One is from Punjab, another is from Tamil Nadu, another from Gujarat, Maharashtra and Bengal," Sajid said. "They challenge Ajay to a duel in their own languages and that's when he speaks to them in their respective languages. It's not just a word, it's an entire dialogue," he said. Apparently, Ajay also underwent a special training to get the accent and the right tone of these languages. "I got a tutor on the sets," Sajid said. 'Himmatwala' is an upcoming action romance film directed by Sajid Khan. It is a remake of the 1983 blockbuster with the same name, which had Jeetendra and Sridevi in the lead. The film,...

Image
Mumbai: Actress Alia Bhatt, who made her Bollywood debut with a fun-loving, youth-oriented film like 'Student Of The Year', is game to feature in a horror film. In fact, she says she would love to be a part of the 'Murder' or 'Raaz' franchise in future. "In these thrillers and scary movies, it is very difficult to portray (the role), to always look scared... and you know, (be) in that tense zone. So, I would love to do a film (like that). If 'Murder 4' or 'Raaz 4' happen, I would love to do it," the 19-year-old said here on Monday at a special screening of 'Murder 3'. Alia says she is proud of her cousin Vishesh, who has made his debut as a director with 'Murder 3', which released on February 15. "I saw it with the audience and I loved it. ~~ Good work important than doing lot of work: Soha ~~

Image
New Delhi: Soha Ali Khan has completed eight years in cinema with a filmography boasting of about 20 films so far, but the actress says she never feels pressurised to be visible. The 34-year-old daughter of Sharmila Tagore made her Bollywood debut with 'Dil Maange More' back in 2004 and went on to star in acclaimed films like 'Rang De Basanti', 'Khoya Khoya Chand', 'Mumbai Meri Jaan' and '99'. "I understand that it has almost been eight years in the industry and that it is competitive and important to be visible and to work constantly. But I have never felt these pressures. I think it is important to do good work and last longer than to do lot of work and burn out quickly," Soha told PTI in an interview. In 2011, the actress starred in just one film, 'Soundtrack', after which she was seen playing a pivotal role in Deepa Mehta's 'Midnight's Children'. "It also depends on what is offered to you and what you...

~~ Oscars 2013: Place your bets on the 9 Best Picture nominees ~~

Image
With a little over a week to go for the 85th Annual Academy Awards, I thought it'd be fun to put together a formbook of the 9 films in the running for the biggest award of all. This isn't based on how good the films are (though the accompanying text should indeed make my opinion on each contender unambiguously clear) but on how good their chances look to lift the Best Picture trophy. Hooper isn't nominated for Best Director, the film has earned very mixed reviews (which means some real stinkers) and, most vitally, Hooper's The King's Speech robbed The Social Network of this Oscar a couple of years ago. Nope, this one's not happening. It's hard not to admire Ang Lee, a wonderfully sensitive filmmaker with an incredibly diverse range. Lee does beautiful things in 3D with this film, most of them involving a majestic tiger, but there's a bit too much heavyhanded preachiness afoot. It's a helluva spectacle, make no mistake, but it really isn...

I Am Ready For Everything, Sonam Kapoor

Image
Sonam Kapoor is truly the gutsy one around and she keeps proving it time and again. Be it her experiments with style and fashion, many of which even receive flak or her movies, she is not bothered about the criticism coming her way and takes it all sportingly. The actress also posted a picture of hers with the trophy on her BB and set her status as “My Ghanta!” Maan gaye Ms Kapoor. We haven’t seen or heard of any star being as sporty about such criticism in quite a while. Hope other cry baby actors learn from her? Way to go Sonam! Other than Players, Housefull 2 and Department too have been nominated in the desi Razzies. Ajay Devgn (Son of Sardar), Arjun Rampal (Chakravyuh, Heroine) and Abhishek Bachchan (Players and Bol Bachchan) have their names nominated for the worst actors. Now it has to be seen if Sonam will make it to the award event this year too and prove herself as the true sport . Meanwhile, it has also been heard that she recently turned do...

Image
Bollywood actors Saif Ali Khan and Sonakshi Sinha are currently in Kolkata for the shooting of their upcoming movie Bullet Raja . Reportedly, the stars are these days capturing the old-world charm of Kolkata with its Victorian era heritage structures, hand-pulled rickshaws and signature trams. Led by director Tigmanshu Dhulia, the actors recently shot in the Dalhousie area of central Kolkata where the Dabangg actress rode a tram and a hand-pulled rickshaw. Saif sported a rustic look as he plays a kurta-clad gun-toting goon from Lucknow who follows his love to Kolkata. Sonakshi, who wore a bright red salwar, plays a Bengali girl in the thriller. As per the reports, they are also shooting a song sequence in the city, in which Saif serenades Sonakshi in the narrow by-lanes of north Kolkata. Exploring the narrow lanes and bylanes and the grand old mansions of north Kolkata, the team will shoot in other locations such as Princep

Dad’s film top priority for Hrithik Roshan

Image
Last year saw Hrithik Roshan joining the Rs100-crore club with Agneepath . According to industry insiders, a slew of offers followed for the star. Hrithik, however, chose to focus only on his father, filmmaker Rakesh Roshan’s ambitious flick Krissh 3 that will see him reprise the role of a superhero. He has now plunged into his next flick, the action thriller Bang Bang, said to be the Indian remake of the Tom Cruise-starrer Knight and Day. The actor, however, denies that the Siddharth Anand film is a remake. “It’s a different take completely,” says Hrithik refusing to divulge any further details on the film. But ask the sexy star about missing from the big screen for more than a year now, and Hrithik says that he plans to change that. “I will complete two films this year; so, I will make up for the gap. But may be I should make a resolution of doing more films in a year,” he laughs. On a more serious note, he adds, “Krissh 3 is a very special film for me and I...

~~ Murder 3 : Review, Rating ~~

Image
We see the characters going through or putting others through a test of love. To the ignorance of the makers, the film gradually becomes a test of your patience and intellect. Ultimately it ends up cheating you. For starters, there is no murder in the film. None. Zero. What we see murdered is the filmmaker’s ability to think as what ends up on screen lacks any sort of conviction. This is the directorial debut of Vishesh Bhatt (Mukesh Bhatt’s son) who shows no promise whatsoever. The first hour is Sara Loren trying very hard to act. The second hour is Aditi Rao Hydari trying to rescue the film. For two and a half hours, Randeep Hooda is trying to be taken seriously. I don’t even want to bother calling it a bad film, it’s just a waste of celluloid. The first hour of the film is lackluster and thoroughly uninteresting. It only picks up post-intermission but by then it is too late. Why? Not so much because of the plot. There is an intriguing plot twist during the second half of the ...

~~ A Minute With: Sajid on ‘Himmatwala' ~~

Image
Sajid Khan's films rarely get good reviews but the Bollywood film-maker doesn't mind. Most critics have panned his movies but audiences ensured his slapstick comedies made a killing at the box office. Khan is breaking out of his usual genre to attempt an action comedy with 'Himmatwala', his new film that opens in cinemas in March. The film, about a man's mission to avenge his father, is a different spin on a 1983 blockbuster of the same name. The 2013 version stars Ajay Devgn and Tamannaah in the lead. Khan spoke to Reuters about revisiting the 30-year-old film and why he thinks 'Himmatwala' would be one of the year's biggest hits. Q: Is your film a remake of 'Himmatwala'? A: "It's 20 percent. They are two different films. The old ‘Himmatwala' didn't have a city or a discotheque; mine does. I don't even want to call it a remake, I would call it a rewrite." Q: Why did you want to ‘rewrite' this film? A: "I hav...

~~ Haven't reached my destination: Randeep ~~

Image
New Delhi: For Randeep Hooda the path to success was not easy. After making his debut in 'Monsoon Wedding' in 2001, it took him four years to bag his next project. But now, when he has got a place for himself in the industry, he is not bragging. "Right now it all looks fine, but that was not the case some years back. It was bleak, dark. The success right now is just a step in my journey. I don't think I have reached my destination yet," Randeep told IANS. "I am just accumulating more and more. All my choices of work are half chances, and my half chances have been working well, but I am not over the moon and shouting from rooftop about it because when I was down and out, I wasn't groveling. So I think I have found a balance of not getting too elated with success and not too disappointed with failures," added the 36-year-old. Milan Luthria's 'Once Upon A Time In Mumbaai' in 2010 came as a breakthrough in Randeep's career, when he was...

~~ Salman to launch bodyguard's son ~~

Image
Mumbai: Actor Salman Khan, who has given a break to many newcomers in Bollywood, now intends to launch his bodyguard Shera's son in the film world. Salman had launched Shera in films with a song-and-dance sequence in the title track of his film 'Bodyguard'. Shera appeared in the song alongside the 47-year-old actor and Katrina Kaif. Now gossip mills are abuzz that Salman is likely to launch Shera's son in Bollywood. Recently Salman was seen praising Shera's 20-year-old son Tiger. "With his looks and personality we already have a winner. At 20, he is so focused and determined," Salman had said. "It is true that he would be launching my son Tiger in Bollywood. It's a great thing. He has said that (launching his son) which means he would have seen something in my son," an excited Shera told PTI. On who would be backing the film, Shera said, "Things are in progress." Shera has been by Salman's side for the last 15 years and they ...
