Top 5 Male Jodis of last 10 years
Two top leading men sharing space with each other in
one movie has always been a mantra for success in Bollywood. Audiences also get
to see two huge stars in one ticket itself. There have been many successful
male pairs in Bollywood who have proved to be a money machine for producers and
total paisa vasool for the cinegoers. But if we look at the movies in the last decade, this trend
is on the verge of extinction. One reason can be cost as affording 2 top
leading men in the same movie will increase the budget manifold. Other reason
can be lack of scripts justifying the roles of both male leads so that
insecurity level should not be there. So mostly in two hero projects, we
usually see one huge star supported by a male actor having comparatively less
market value. Here is my list of top 5 leading male pairs in the last
decade (2003-2012) who I badly want to see again.
1.) Salman-Akshay: - Sallu and Akki are the 2 biggest mass superstars of this generation. Their Tom and Jerry chemistry worked wonders in Mujhse Shaadi Karogi. They were repeated again by Sajid Nadiadwala in well-made Jaanemann but the film failed at box office. Since then, their popularity has grown manifolds but unfortunately they have not worked together and that is not likely to happen even in the near future.
2.) SRK-Saif: - SRK and Saif were completely in synch with each other’s sense of humor and timing in Kal Ho Naa Ho. They have spread their charm and entertained one and all as the hosts of many Filmfare Award nights. This pair has also not been repeated since.
3.)
John-Abhishek: - John-Abhishek proved
lucky mascots for each other in Dhoom as it was the first official hit movie
for both of them. But it was not a 2 hero project. Four years later, they set
the screen ablaze again with their sparkling cozy and naughty chemistry in
Dostana. There are news regarding a sequel also but sadly nothing is official
as yet.

4.) Salman-Govinda:-Salman-Govinda became partners in the David Dhawan’s ‘Partner’ and they simply rocked as the movie became a blockbuster. It is unfortunate that the idea of sequel has been shelved.
5.) Akshay-John: - This pair has worked together in Garam Masala , Desi Boyyz and multistarrer Housefull 2. While Garam Masala was a huge success, Desi Boyyz did not work. Their chemistry was quite entertaining in Housefull 2 also.
Few other pairs who have worked together in the last decade are Ajay-Abhishek (Zameen and Bol Bachchan), Akshay-Govinda ( Bhagam Bhaag), Hrithik-Abhishek ( MPKDH , Dhoom2), Amitabh-Abhishek (Sarkar, Sarkar Raj, Paa) and Ajay-Emraan (OUATIM).
