Kajol wants KJo to perform an item number!

 

A lot of hue and cry has been made about the inclusion of item songs in Bollywood movies off late, with a number of actresses claiming to stay away from the item girl brigade. It is being said that such performances prove to be a bad influence on the society and many people from the industry seem to agree to this notion. However, popular Bollywood actress, Kajol believes that item numbers are just meant to entertain people and do not impact the society negatively.

Though the seasoned actress has herself never indulged in such a performance she supports the concept. Kajol admits that she enjoys these performances. “I enjoy watching item numbers”, she said at a recent press meet with her friend and notable Bollywood director Karan Johar. She believes that if an item number adds to the movie’s story then there should be no harm in including it. “If the item number is adding to the story then I don’t mind it. I think they have to be taken in the spirit they are meant for, you know”, said the dusky actress.

However, though Kajol has shown her open mindedness on the subject she doesn’t want her kids to watch such numbers. “When it comes to kids, I would not want them to see the songs…there have to be certain boundaries”, she said. When asked if the audience can expect to see her doing an item number in the near future, she quipped, “No, I would like Karan Johar to do an item number”. On a lighter note, she went on to say that, “I think Karan would be better to do an item song. He is much better than me....I think he is 20 times better than me for an item

song”.
