Salman Khan to do Action Stunts with Deepika in Kick

Salman Khan starrer 'Kick' is making headlines for obvious reasons. While the male lead to fit the bill is none other than Dabanngg Khan, there were speculations to cast the female lead opposite the superstar. The film has many action stunts and therefore the flick needed a fit actress who can perform the stunts with finesse.

Producer-Director Sajid Nadiawal's hunt for the lady has finally come to an end. The actress in our 'Cocktail' fame Deepika Padukone.

Sajid wanted an actress who can be easy as pie for the heavy duty martial arts and stunts. And among the ladies Deepika fit the bill aptly and will be perfect for the movie. Earlier, actress Ileana D’Cruz and Priyanka Chopra were also considered for the role considering that the former was part of the Telugu version of Kick(2009). However, the idea to cast Miss World Chopra was dropped due to her closeness with Salman's arch rival Shahrukh Khan.

“Deepika Padukone is to romance Salman in ‘Kick’……looks like Priyanka’s close proximity with King Khan (Shah Rukh Khan) has made her lose the role.”

Added another insider,

“Everyone knows how close Priyanka is to Shah Rukh Khan. Salman would never dream of renewing his friendship with anyone who is close to Shah Rukh. She is close to Salman’s sisters. That’s why she’s seen visiting his home. I can tell you with certainty that there’s no project happening with Salman and Priyanka in the lead.”
