~~ Trend Spot: Go Green this Spring ~~

Spring is in the air and one of the liveliest colours of the season, Green, is finding favour with our stylish set. Ranging from sea-foam to teal, bright emerald to deep forest the options and shades are endless. Take a cue from celebrities on how to pick, style and work the colour.
Bipasha Basu dazzled in an ultra-short, studded green dress from BinalS, at the CCL curtain raiser. She styled her dress with golden strappy sandals, pink lips and sleek hair. Frieda Pinto looked beautiful at the NCAAP awards in a draped jewel-toned James Ferreira gown. Charlize Theron rocked a bright green Reed Krakoff Pre-Fall 2012 knee-length dress last year, which she paired with black accessories. Jessica Alba was also spotted in a casual green sheath dress with metallic pumps while out and about.
Catherine, Duchess of Cambridge also seems to favour the colour, as she has been spotted in different shades of the vibrant hue at various appearances, wearing them in figure flattering silhouettes. From Emilia Wickstead’s Green Coat Dress, a bright, fun Diane Von Furstenberg to a glamorous structured, peplum-detailed, Alexander McQueen gown with a thigh-high slit, she has tried them all with great success, typically styling her looks with nude or black pumps.
If you want to pick one green item for your closet, take notes from these celebs.
Emma Stone’s Burberry Prorsum Spring 2013 ensemble with a sparkling deep green skirt paired with midnight blue strapless top with peplum accents was a great colour blocked look. You could also pick a luxe green jacket like Rihanna or a vibrant green trouser like Tisca Chopra, which she paired with a white printed top and a blue belt for an effortless chic look.
Green is turning out to be a popular colour for Indian wear as well. Kajol paired her beige Sabyasachi sari with a green full sleeves blouse at a recent function, Esha Gupta looked great in a high neck Anand Kabra green-gold lehenga and Raveena Tandon wore a deep green Manish Malhtora Anarkali with blue trims to the Filmfare nominations bash.

The key to looking good in the colour of the moment, is to pick the right shade and pair it with neutral accessories- grey, beige, black or white. Remember to keep rest of the look clean and let the colour stand out. What is great about the colour is that it transitions very well between seasons as well. Look out for lighter shades for Spring-Summer and deeper, rich tones for Winter
