Coachella Valley Music and Arts Annual Festival, one of the hottest tickets in the US festival calendar, got underway at the Empire Polo Club in Indio, California last weekend. A host of stars attended the desert bash, which saw performances from Brit-rockers Blur and the Stone Roses, French outfit Phoenix, funk-rock favourites the Red Hot Chili Peppers and rap veterans Wu-Tang Clan.

The festival is unusual in that it takes place over two weekends, with each weekend having identical line-ups in order to cope with the huge demand for tickets.
