Sonam Kapoor Looks Younger In Raanjhana

The first look of Anand Rai’s upcoming Bollywood movie, Raanjhana starring fashionista Sonam Kapoor and Rajnikanth’s son-in-law and Kolaveri Di singer Dhanush was revealed on the colourful occasion of Holi.

But what Sonam Kapoor has done in her upcoming film Raanjhana, is something really commendable and unbelievable indeed. The film, in which pretty actress Sonam is playing much younger character opposite south superstar Dhanush, has her playing a school girl too. Sonam will be seen as a schoolgirl with pigtails and in flowery frock. It is learnt that the film by director Anand L. Rai is a romantic drama that spans a long time in the lives of two lovers, Sonam and Dhanush.

Following the film’s first look poster release, Dhanush tweeted, “The official first look of raanjhana. A beautiful journey I took against all odds.happy holi.”

Actress Sonam Kapoor tweeted saying, “Guys this was just a teaser picture and holi greeting from team raanjhana! The official look and theatrical will arrive soon! Watch this space!”
The movie is rumoured to be an intense love story set in the small town of Varanasi. The movie will also mark the debut of Tamil superstar Dhanush who gained National fame through his hit number “Why this Kolaveri Di”. Apart from his Bollywood debut Dhanush is busy with Tamil movie “Mariyaan”, directed by Bharat Bala.

The earlier plan was to rope in young actors to play the parts, but director Anand L. Rai couldn’t find suitable faces to match Sonam and Dhanush. And later the actors offered to play the roles on their own. “Dhanush and Sonam Kapoor suggested that they should portray their younger versions themselves. And what a transformation it turned out to be. The Kolaveri Di star shaved off his stubble and Sonam went on a special diet to look her younger self,” said source.

Director Rai was so convinced by their transformation that he said, “When they play 17-year olds no one would be looking at the two actors’ real ages.”
